Several years ago, I attended a class taught by and well-known homemaking guru, Daryl Hoole. One of her many bits of advice was to do "Something that Stays Done" every day. I have followed this advice off and on, but want to make it a habit in 2011!

P.S. To see the blog that inspired me to get started and to see more great ideas of things to get done, check out dirtylittlesecrets2010.blogspot.com. Thanks, Becky!

I think I'll burn that!

When you have a wood burning fireplace that will heat your whole home,
you get pretty creative when it comes to burning things:).
We extended the backyard recently and took down a wood fence.
One of the husband's scouts needed to earn some money for a merit badge
so I paid him to cut the slats into thirds.
This pile has been in the backyard for a while and I wanted it moved
before it warms up so the grass isn't totally ruined.
I moved it today.
It has been said that if you cut your own wood it warms you twice.
May I add...if you move your own woodpile it warms you twice, too!
